Sweetly Sarris Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

Bring milk to a simmer in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa powder and chopped chocolate in a bowl, then whisk into the milk. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring, until the chocolate melts and the cocoa is thick, about 2 minutes. Divide among 4 mugs and garnish each with marshmallows and whipped cream if desired.

Variations

White Hot Cocoa

Bring milk and chopped white chocolate to a boil, whisking to melt the chocolate. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Layered Mocha

Microwave chopped chocolate and water on 50% power until melted, 2 minutes, stirring halfway through. Divide among 4 small mugs and top each with 2 tablespoons of condensed milk and a shot of hot espresso.

Banana Cream

Bring milk, chopped banana, sugar and cinnamon to a boil. Add both milk and dark chocolate and whisk until melted. Remove from heat. Let sit 1 minute and puree until smooth.
