Production Line Worker

We're looking for people who want to be part of a team that produces a high-quality product in a casual environment that is part of a growing, successful company. We need people who are dependable and like to contribute and achieve.

Responsibilities:

This position entails working on a production line and requires placing items on a moving belt to be covered in chocolate, ensuring quality of each piece and packing the covered pieces in boxes to be used in other parts of the plant or repackaged for sale.

Other duties include ensuring personal and work area cleanliness and keeping supplies stored according to quality rules and regulations. Minimum record keeping and reporting may also be required.

Qualifications:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent education. Production experience preferred but not required as on-the-job training is provided.

It requires working in a team atmosphere and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical requirements include ability to stand and reach, with repetitive motions for the majority of the shift. Position occasionally requires lifting of 20 to 30 pounds.

Ice Cream Parlor Manager

This Manager is responsible for facilitating and supervising daily and evening operations to make sure that employees work together effectively to make sales and contribute to shop upkeep. Duties include supervising clerks, communicating with management, managing inventory, scheduling employee shifts and training new employees. The Manager empowers their team and creates a positive environment for both customers and team members.

Work schedule is full time beginning 3 PM till closing, weekends are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise, train, and assist store clerks in customer service, store maintenance and product promotions.
  • Stays adept at knowing the product and staying curious on new merchandise and trends.
  • Communicates new initiatives, leadership messages, and promotions.
  • Ensures impeccable execution of operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the store remains clean and presentable at all times.
  • Hire and train as needed to ensure adequate personnel is on hand to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Mentors and inspires the team to enhance the overall store’s performance.
  • Creates a model for continuous learning while promoting teamwork and appreciation throughout the team.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, including MS Office products including Word, Excel and POS systems.
  • Demonstrate a "customer first" service focus.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills/proficient written and verbal communication abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand during an entire shift (other than normal break time).
  • Continuously walk around all areas of the store throughout shift.
  • Read written instructions, reports, and other information on paper and computer screens.
  • Orally communicate with customers and other team members on consistent basis throughout their shift.
  • Lift, place, and arrange items on shelves and racks.
  • Bend down and reach above head.
  • Individually lift up to 49 pounds.

EXPECTED AVAILABILITY:

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum - 2+ years of progressive retail management experience

Machine Operator (Full Time)

Full time Machine Operator needed for immediate hire. Sarris Candies seeks a motivated and conscientious individual for Candy Manufacturing Operations.

Position will consist mainly of machine operations, production supervision, formulations and managing raw materials. Position offers plenty of opportunity for upward movement and increased responsibilities dependent upon illustrated skill, adaptability, and leadership. The candidate must be a mature, diligent self-starter with ability to multi-task and communicate. Prior knowledge of production line and manufacturing best practices preferred. Ability to think proactively, take initiative, and adapt to changing needs is necessary.

Responsible for adhering to all product specifications, established machine SOPs and safety protocols while focusing on the finished product.


Requirements:

  • Adhere to the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the general food safety and compliance principles of SQF/BRC standards.
  • Operate designated machinery in accordance to product specifications.
  • Perform spot checks on products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards.
  • Responsible for routine cleaning and general maintenance on equipment as assigned.
  • Notify Team Leader of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.
  • Adhere to established company policies and procedures regarding plant safety.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, alerting team leaders and managers of idle time.
  • Operator will have extended weekday hours and required seasonal weekend hours.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong mathematical, reading, and comprehension aptitude
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Flexibility in shift scheduling
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of key safety disciplines
  • Physical dexterity, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 250 lbs.
