What is the shelf life of your candy?
The shelf life of our candy varies by product. Solid chocolate has a shelf life of up to 2 years, while most other items are best enjoyed within 1 year. Products that contain nuts are freshest when consumed within 9 months. Please refer to the Best By date on the product packaging for optimal taste.
How do I read the Best By date on my chocolate?
All of our products are marked with a six-digit Best By date in the format BBMMDDYY. (For example, BB123125 would indicate a Best By date of December 31, 2025.) We recommend enjoying your treats before this date for the best quality and freshness, however, with proper storage, your chocolate will remain edible past the Best By date.
How should I store my chocolate?
For the best results, store your chocolates in a cool, dry place—ideally around 60–70 °F—and away from direct sunlight, humidity, and strong odors. We don’t recommend refrigerating or freezing your chocolate, as this can affect its texture and appearance. For more helpful storage tips, check out our blog to keep your treats tasting their best.
My chocolate is covered in a white film. Is it safe to eat?
The white film you see on your chocolate is known as “bloom,” and it’s perfectly safe to eat. Bloom can occur when chocolate is exposed to sudden temperature changes or stored in a humid environment, causing the cocoa butter or sugar to rise to the surface, creating a whitish or streaky appearance. While it may affect the texture and look of the chocolate, it doesn’t impact safety. Proper storage in a cool, dry place can help prevent bloom from occurring.
Do you do presentations for groups/organizations?
Yes, we offer presentations for groups and organizations. Please contact us by phone at 1-800-255-7771 to speak with our event specialist.
Do your boxed chocolates come gift wrapped?
Yes, all of our boxed chocolates are finished with either gift wrap or a box sleeve. (Designs vary based on the time of year or holiday season.)
Do you offer tours of your facility?
At this time, we are not offering tours as we move into our new, state-of-the-art production facility in the heart of Canonsburg. Please check back for updates and more information on tours in early 2026.
Do you give donations for events and other charitable causes?
Yes, we’re proud to support community events and charitable causes through product donations. To be considered, please ensure your request meets our criteria and complete our donation request form. Although we can’t fulfill every submission, we review each one carefully and will contact you directly if your donation is approved.
Where can I purchase Sarris Candies aside from online and your Canonsburg store?

Candy Store and Ice Cream Parlor
Can I reserve a table in your ice cream parlor?
At this time, we do not accept reservations. Seating in our ice cream parlor is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
Do you do birthday parties? Do you offer birthday party packages?
While we don’t offer formal birthday party packages, guests are always welcome to celebrate their special day at our ice cream parlor. We’re happy to be part of your celebration—just keep in mind that seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
Do you sell food in your ice cream parlor?
Our ice cream parlor serves a full menu of delicious ice cream treats, but we do not offer any other food items.
Is your store wheelchair/handicap accessible?
Yes, our store is wheelchair and handicap accessible. We’re committed to providing a welcoming and comfortable experience for all of our guests.
Can we bring a tour bus/group?
Yes, we’re happy to welcome tour buses and groups! While reservations aren’t required, we do appreciate a heads-up so we can be prepared to make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Do you accept EBT/food stamps?
We do not accept EBT or food stamps as a form of payment.
Do you accept Apple Pay or Google Pay?
Yes, we accept both Apple Pay and Google Pay for a fast and convenient checkout experience.
What is the best way to store and serve my ice cream cake?
Always store your ice cream cake in the freezer. When you’re ready to serve, remove your cake from the freezer and allow it to come to room temperature for at least 10 minutes. For best results, soak a knife in hot water and dry with a towel immediately before slicing.
Placing an Order
What if I need to cancel or change my order?
If you need to cancel or make changes to your order, please contact us immediately. Once an order is placed, it begins moving through our fulfillment process quickly, so changes or cancellations cannot be guaranteed. However, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request if the order hasn’t yet shipped.
How far in advance do I need to order baby/wedding favors/custom wrapped bars?
Orders containing custom products require a minimum of 10 business days for processing and production. This allows us enough time to prepare, personalize, and package your items with the care and attention they deserve. Ordering early also helps ensure availability and on-time delivery for your special occasion.
Can I choose the date for my order to ship?
Yes, you can choose the shipping date for your order during checkout. Please note that this is the date your order will leave our facility, not the date it will be delivered. Transit times will vary depending on the shipping method and destination.
What payment methods are accepted online?
We accept a variety of secure payment methods for online orders, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. You can also check out quickly and easily using digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay.
Shipping and Store Pickup
Do you ship internationally?
Sarris Candies is only able to ship to addresses in the continental U.S. and Canada. Special shipping rates apply to shipments going to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. Please contact customer service for more information.
How will my order be shipped/packaged to prevent melting?
As temperatures fluctuate, we may hold your order if the state you’re shipping to is experiencing temperatures above 70°. During this time, orders are only shipped out Monday through Thursday. All orders will be packed in an insulated bag with ice packs and require Expedited or Overnight shipping to prevent melting.
We guarantee that all orders will arrive in perfect condition when shipped with warm weather packaging. If there is an issue with your order, please contact our customer service team for more assistance.
Do you offer same-day or local delivery?
We do not offer same-day or local delivery. All orders are shipped via UPS, FedEx, or USPS and are subject to standard shipping times based on your selected method and location.
Do you offer same-day pick up?
We do not offer same-day pickup. All store pickup orders require 48 business hours for processing.
Will I be notified when my order is ready for pick up?
We do not send a separate notification when your order is ready for pickup. Your pickup date will be listed in your email confirmation, so please refer to that when planning your visit.
Where do I pick up my order?
For online orders, please stop in our candy store and let an associate know your name so they can retrieve your order.
For bar & rod or online fundraising orders, please drive around to our back alley to garage door #2 and ring the bell. If picking up after 5 pm, please stop in our candy store to inform an associate. For a smoother pickup experience, please bring a copy of your email confirmation.

Can I ship to multiple recipients?
Yes, you can ship to multiple recipients in a single order. During checkout, you'll have the option to enter different shipping addresses. After entering the first address, simply click "Add Another Shipping Address" to include more. You can then choose which items in your cart go to each location.
How long does it take to ship an order?
Orders can be expected to ship within 5 (five) business days. At that time, a tracking number will be sent to your email address on file.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes, you’ll receive an order confirmation by email shortly after placing your order. If you don’t receive a confirmation, your order may not have been completed successfully. Please double-check your email’s junk/spam folder and try again or contact us for assistance.
Will I receive a shipping confirmation?
Yes, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email from UPS, FedEx, or USPS once your order leaves our facility. If you don’t see it in your inbox, be sure to check your spam or junk folder.
Do you ship to P.O. boxes or military addresses (APO/FPO)?
We are able to ship to P.O. boxes using USPS, however, please allow for additional time in transit. Free shipping is available for military addresses (APO/FPO). Due to increased time in transit, we cannot guarantee against melting or that packages will arrive by a specific date.

Where can I find ingredients and nutritional information for a specific product?

Do you offer any kosher or halal products?
At this time, we do not offer any products that are certified kosher or halal.
Is your plain milk chocolate gluten free?
Our plain milk chocolate does not contain any gluten ingredients; however, it is made in a facility that also processes products containing gluten.
Are any of your products nut-free?
All Sarris Candies products are produced in a facility where nuts are present, and while we maintain rigorous cleaning and food safety standards, cross-contamination is still possible. Even the most thorough processes cannot completely remove the risk of trace allergens. For individuals with nut allergies, we recommend exercising caution when consuming our products.
Do you offer any sugar-free products?
Yes, we offer a variety of sugar-free candies that are sweetened with maltitol, a commonly used sugar substitute. Maltitol provides the sweetness and texture of sugar but with fewer calories and a lower glycemic impact, making it a popular choice for those managing their sugar intake. Please note that, like other sugar alcohols, maltitol may cause digestive sensitivity in some individuals if consumed in large amounts.
Do you offer any products that are gluten-free?
Yes, we offer a selection of products that are certified gluten-free. While most of our chocolates contain gluten or are made in a facility where gluten is present, these specific items are made with extra care to meet gluten-free standards.
Do you offer any products that are vegan/dairy-free?
We offer a selection of chocolates made without any added animal products, which may be suitable for those following a vegan or dairy-free lifestyle. However, because they’re produced in a facility that also handles dairy, they are labeled with a ‘may contain milk’ warning as a precaution.
How much caffeine is in your chocolate?
The caffeine content in our chocolate varies by type. Our milk chocolate contains about 3 mg of caffeine per ounce, while dark chocolate contains around 14 mg per ounce.
If your pet has consumed chocolate, please contact your veterinarian right away with the amount and type of chocolate involved.
Ice Cream
Does your ice cream contain peanuts or tree nuts?
We make all of our ice cream fresh in-store, in an environment where peanuts and tree nuts may be present.
If you have a peanut or tree nut allergy, we can offer our vanilla ice cream as a safe option. Please let our staff know before ordering so they can use a clean scoop and new container of ice cream.
Do you offer any dairy-free or vegan ice cream flavors?
Yes, our Chunky Chocolate ice cream is oat-milk based, making it dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan. Please note: we are unable to make dairy-free or vegan milkshakes.
Do any of your ice cream flavors contain gluten?
The following ice cream flavors contain gluten: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Cookies & Cream, Deep Dish Apple Pie, Mud Pie, and Pumpkin Pie.
All dishes and sundaes are served with a cookie stick. Please inform our staff of your intolerance/allergy when ordering.
Do any of your ice cream flavors/toppings contain eggs?
The following ice cream flavors/toppings contain eggs:
- Ice Cream: Eggnog, French Vanilla
- Toppings: Marshmallow
Do you offer no sugar added or sugar-free ice cream?
Yes, we offer no sugar added ice cream in Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Butter Pecan flavors. These options are made without added sugars but may still contain naturally occurring sugars from ingredients like milk. We do not offer sugar-free ice cream, which is made using artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols.
While no sugar added ice cream can be a good option for those looking to reduce their sugar intake, it is not completely sugar-free.
