Ingredients
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1–2 tablespoons red food coloring

Milk Chocolate Blossoms
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in eggs, 1 tablespoon of food coloring, and vanilla.
- Gradually stir in the dry ingredients. If dough appears pink, add more food coloring until you reach a deep red color.
- Cover dough with plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
- When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll dough into tablespoon-sized balls, then coat generously in powdered sugar. Place 3 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove cookies from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before gently pressing a Milk Chocolate Blossom into the center of each cookie.
- Let cookies cool for an additional 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
